Good industry prospects
When it comes to the most popular subjects these days, IT subjects such as computer science are definitely on the agenda. Graduates from the school have a high placement rate in the technology giants FAANG (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, and Google), and software engineers earn an average salary of US$250,000 per year.
Flexible progression model
Students can choose to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science in the third year of the four-year programme, or a Masters of Engineering in the fourth year.
Why not Oxford, but Cambridge?
The University of Cambridge is a pioneer in computer science and a leader in the field of technology. It is home to over 1,000 companies and business laboratories with advanced and specialist computing technologies. Many local and start-up companies in the US recognise Cambridge's teaching and are willing to hire graduates to work in chip design, mathematical modelling and artificial intelligence.
The Computer Science course at Cambridge is very in-depth and extensive. In addition to practical skills such as programming (using various languages such as OCaml, Java, C/C++, Prolog) and hardware systems, the course also covers the full range of modern computer science, as well as the fundamentals of economics, law and business, to help prepare students for the world of work.
With an offer rate of around 6%, Cambridge's Computer Science is more competitive than its Oxford counterpart (Oxford Computer Science (around 8% offer rate), Oxford Mathematics and Computing (around 13% offer rate) and Oxford Computing and Philosophy (around 10% offer rate)), demonstrating its uniqueness and scarcity.

What are the entry requirements for Computer Science at Cambridge?
ALEVEL: A*A*A (must include Maths and achieve a minimum of A Grade).
IB: 42, HL 776 (Must include mathematics in HL).

The TMUA examination and the CSAT interview are required prior to the interview.
The future is bright and accompanied by high demands.
Computer Science actually requires 25 weeks of study, five weeks more than the 20 weeks required for other subjects. This is believed to be due to the rich content of the course, which requires more time for students to understand the content. Therefore, applying for this subject means that applicants need to be able to cope with a higher intensity of study.
