「名牌大學」是指在兩大公認為最具參考價值及大學評級機構 – QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) 以及 THE (Times Higher Education) 中，名列前茅的名牌大學。
事實與經驗告訴我們，以名牌大學為目標卻在最後未能成功的學生主要有兩種：一種是成績達標卻缺乏強而有力的背景及專業指導；另一種是有十足的相關課外經驗，公開試成績卻未有達標。後者來得更可惜。
